HOW TO REACH THE VENUE
By plane:

The best solution is a car rental (pick up at airport). It´s much faster (1 hour) and probably about the same final price.
The other possibility is by bus. From here you will have direct buses to Vila Real between 7:00 am and the 9:20 pm daily at an hourly frequency for buses (http://www.rodonorte.pt/).
To get the bus, first you have to go by Metro to Porto downtown (http://www.metrodoporto.pt/en/; get the Violet Line and exit at Trindade Station; it will take about 30/40 minutes).
Then you have to walk to the Bus Station (Ateneu Comercial do Porto Street, 19; around 10 minutes).
After departing, the bus will take 1h30 minute to arrive at Vila Real
For travelers from Latin America, a more economical option is to travel to the airport of Lisbon. And then travel by bus between Lisbon and Vila Real. Several companies offer direct trips (Rodonorte/Santos http://www.rodonorte.pt/; Rede Expressso http://www.rede-expressos.pt/; Auto Viação Tâmega http://www.avtamega.pt/). You can also fly between Lisbon and Oporto, there are low-cost companies, however, the ticket must be bought separately or at the Airport (subject to availability in this case).
